PDF/UA Studio
Jedes Dokument barrierefrei – getaggt, PDF/UA-konform und geprüft.Every document made accessible — tagged, PDF/UA-compliant and verified.
In aktiver Entwicklung.
Was es besonders macht
Drop in a PDF, Word or Excel file — get back a tagged, screen-reader-friendly, PDF/UA-compliant document, plus proof of what was fixed and what still needs a human eye. Deterministic first, AI only where it counts, all local and GDPR-compliant.
Why it exists
- It's the law – the EU Accessibility Act requires organisations to ship accessible documents; non-compliance is a real regulatory and reputational risk.
- Inclusion – roughly 1 in 20 people rely on assistive technology; an untagged PDF is simply invisible to a screen reader.
- Volume – remediating thousands of legacy PDFs by hand takes 30 minutes to hours per file and stays inconsistent.
How it works
- One pipeline – read the document, fix metadata (title, language, PDF/UA id), rebuild structure (headings, lists, tables, reading order).
- Image descriptions – alt text comes from a local AI-vision pass, used only where real judgment is needed.
- Deterministic first – tags, metadata and order are pure logic: the same result every time, no API key. AI runs only for the audit and image descriptions.
What makes it special
- Never fails into a worse document – every output is checked by built-in rules and an independent PAC / Matterhorn test before it ships.
- One zip, one flow – drop files in the browser, watch it run live, download a single zip: the fixed PDF, a before/after report, a screen-reader preview and a human-review checklist.
- Local & provable – everything runs locally, AI passes are optional; it turns hours of expert work into a fast, repeatable, verifiable step.
